Presidents Must Uphold the Law

Timothy Birdnow

This from the Federalist Patriot:

"Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has indicated that the administration will be enforcing immigration law as if the stalled DREAM Act were actually passed. Specifically, the Obama administration will not deport illegal-alien students who would have been covered by the law's provisions. "I will say, and can say, that you know what? They are not, that group, if they truly meet all those criteria, and we see very few of them actually in the immigration system, if they truly meet those [criteria], they're not the priority," the secretary babbled. "The reason we set priorities is so that the focus could be on those in the country who are also committing other illegal acts."

We understand that not every law is going to be enforced 100 percent of the time -- perfection is not for mere mortals -- but the administration is acting as if a law that hasn't passed actually has been passed in order to avoid enforcing laws already on the books that the administration doesn't favor. To add insult to injury, Napolitano is declaring these priorities at the same time she's touting the border as being secure. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along."

End excerpt.

This is an imperial presidency. Barack Obama believes he can choose which laws he wishes to enforce. The reality is that the president is the executive officer of the U.S., meaning he executes laws the Congress has passed. The president MUST enforce those laws, like them or not. Can you imagine if George W. Bush were to have refused to enforce laws pertaining to abortion because he didn't like them? He would have been impeached. And rightly so, despite the nobility of such a stand.

Barack Obama should be impeached.

I've made the case for impeachment multiple times. Go here http://tbirdnow.mee.nu/high_crimes_and_misdemeanors

to read my arguments for Congressional action to remove Barack Obama, aka the One or Il Duce if you are Italian. We need not wait until after the next election; the House initiates articles of impeachment, and first there must be an investigation to ascertain the facts. Now is the time to start the investigation; it will take time, and in the meantime Obama's many crimes will come out. Also, Congress could compel him to produce his birth certificate under subpeona - something that cannot now be done. There is more than ample evidence that Mr. Obama is guilty of violating the law, and even if he is not removed from office, he should be investigated and his actions put under a microscope. Certainly a Republican who acted so high handedly would be dragged in front of a committee.

But the GOP, having failed to remove Bill Clinton (the Senate didn't even try) will fear another impeachment so soon. The leadership believes Clinton was re-elected because he was impeached, and they fear doing the same with Il Duce. They just do not understand that these are very different times with very different public sentiments. The ECONOMY save Clinton; the economy is in shambles under Obama. People are mad as hell, and they will support his removal from office. It won't happen before the general election anyway, but the investigation needs to begin now. Had the Democrats had half of what we have on Obama, they would not have hesitated to impeach George W. Of course, they feared Dick Cheney more.

Victory in politics - as victory in war, which is the closest analogous situation - goes to the bold, not the timid. Obama and his people will not go quietly. We have to go out after them, and we have to be aggressive. We have plenty of ammunition, but we must have the courage to use it. The GOP just doesn't seem to have that courage.

And the Tea Party wants to restore Constitutional principles, yet how can that be done while we allow this president carte blanche to enforce laws of his own choosing and to act in any way he sees fit? The Presidency is under the law, established by the Constitution. If the president can do whatever he wants, why can't Congress? Why not the Courts? There is no limit if we do not hold any branch of government to account.

Liberalism will ultimate die out in America; liberals have far fewer children than conservatives. They only survive by recruiting the gullible. That recruitment occurs in schools, in universities, through "sexual identity" politics, or racial baiting. They need new blood, and that blood will come from outside America, they believe. They want to change the polity in this country. Illegal immigrants are one of their cornerstones for survival.

Unfortunately the GOP feels the same way, believing they can draw Hispanics into their orb. They may be successful in drawing in the legals, but the illegals are here for what they can get, and the Democrats own that agenda. They will vote for whoever promises the most (and yes they vote - or will).

Take a look at the Bosnian and Albanian communities. I live in a community that is heavily Bosnian and Albanian, and they are overwhelmingly Democrat. Bill Clinton knew what he was doing when he opened the doors to this community; they were born and bred in a communist country, and still largely believe in the importance of the welfare state. They came here as refugees, and brought their homeland with them. They will remain a loyal Democrat constituency for decades to come, like Irish or Italian communities were back in the 20th century. The illegals will constitute an equally loyal voting block.

Of course, ultimately that is beside the point; the law of the land calls for the removal of illegal aliens, and these people are invaders whether they are in school or not. They may be decent people, but they are INVADERS. The president swears to uphold the laws of the Republic. If he fails to do so, he is subject to impeachment and removal of office. It really is that simple.

If real change is to occur, our officials must be held accountable. Congress is frightened of this because they know they are equally liable to removal, and they don't want to set a precedent. Much like monarchies in the 18 and 19th centuries, they cannot condone the removal of a king, no matter how repugnant, because of the precedent it sets.

But We the People rule in America, not the elected representatives. We the People have had enough. The GOP ignores that at their peril.
