Bin Laden Turns Green, Stops his Carbon Pollution

Timothy Birdnow

Some random thoughts on the death of Osama Bin-Laden.

First, I was embarassed by the crowd of drunken revelers celebrating outside of the White House; it would have been fitting at the World Cup or after the Super Bowl or Stanley Cup, but it was just undignified after the death of an enemy. Granted, he was a huge enemy, but this gives the wrong impression of America. What makes us number 1? You chant such things at sporting events. What should have happened is the crowd should have been PRAYING in thanksgiving. I do not expect a prayer vigil to be held anytime soon - at least not near the official power structure.

Remember, we were furious at those who cheered when the twin towers fell; now these drunken idiots will be on Al Jazeera. That more than anything will be the tool to whip the masses into a fury.

Not that I care a wit about the Islamic masses, but there really is no purpose to it. As I said, we should have had a prayer vigil, not an intoxicated revel. People were clearly drinking, and wrapping themselves in American flags while chanting idiotic slogans. I noticed some signs in the crowd, too' preprinted signs, I might add. A few appeared to say "Change" on them, so the BHO's people were out taking advantage of this. Unseemly, to put it mildly.

And as to Obama, this will give him a huge bounce in favorability. It strikes me as quite fortuitous that Bone-Laden should die now, at a point when Obama's favorability rating is plunging. The release of his Long Form Birth Certificate (actually a fake, but most people won't know that) helped Obama stem the bleeding, and now this should shoot him back up. He will tout this as HIS victory, not George W. Bush's, not the victory of the men and women in uniform. No; he'll claim it was his brilliance that brought Bin-Laden to his 72 virgins and a mule.

And, as of yet, there are no pictures. Now, I hate to be disagreeable, but I was of the opinion that Laddie was no longer poisoning the atmosphere with carbon, and that killing him a second time really serves no constructive purpose. They say he died from a head shot, which suggests pictures will NOT be forthcoming. Call me paranoid, but there are real purposes to be served from a military standpoint by a Weekend at Bernies scenario; Bin Laden would not have been a martyr to act to rally the Mujihadeen, his supposed continued existence would stay the hand of certain more ambitious terrorists, we could infiltrate Al Qaeda and perhaps intervene in Bin Laden's name when he is not among the living, etc. I have always suspected that our government wasn't giving us the whole story. The man was on dialysis, after all, and required some serious medical care. And Al Qaeda was not a top-down corporation, but a franchise; we could put out disinformation if we wished, and many would believe. They wanted to believe; they believe Allah wills it.

So faking this would not be hard, and we have DNA to use to show the world. Our illustrious Duce would have no problem using such a secret to his advantage; who will contradict him? Certainly the Bush Administration people would know, but they couldn't admit their knowledge.

In recent years there have been several audio tapes that the government was quick to authenticate. But Russian intelligence people have always denied the veracity of those tapes, and the successors to the KGB should be as sharp as the CIA, certainly.

Is this fake? Probably not, but the timing is interesting. Could be coincidence, but the people in charge here are entirely capable of staging this.

And don't think that Al Qaeda doesn't know it! There will be many in the Arab world who will think this is a head fake, and rumors of the survival of Bin Laden will swirl; he'll be the Elvis Prestley of terrorism. If the U.S. cannot release a good picture of him, his death will remain in doubt. I can see Al Qaeda releasing a tape purported to be Bin Laden in the future. Don't believe everything you see in any of this, folks! Even if the U.S. is absolutely on the up and up, there will be psychological warfare games played.

Bin Laden's body was buried at sea, after full Islamic honors.

Once again, we are treated to America the yellow. Bin Laden should be buried in pork chops, so that his soul (by Islamic tradition) finds no rest. Not that WE believe it, but the enemy does. They need to know that they aren't getting their Muhammaden paradise, but rather will wind up in the 'tarnal flames. Now every impoverished kid wants to be a martyr so they can get their virgins; that won't stop until they know there is no benefit in blowing onesself to smithereens along with several innocent people. Bin Laden's body should be mistreated in a calculated fashion, not honored. We are forever giving up any tactical advantage we possess.

I understand why they are dumping him in the sea; let the fishes obliterate any trace of him.

And please note he has already been turned into chum. Fast work, that. Now nobody will know if it really was Bin Laden or not. Handy from the perspective of an unpopular president desperate to shore up his poll numbers. IF Bin Laden was long worm food, then this would be a terrific ploy.

Not that I don't believe that it was Bin Laden; Obama merely got lucky. So did we; this would have been a total game-changer had it happened next year. This particular rabbitt would likely have been pulled later rather than now. But it is food for thought.

So, what does this mean for the future? Is it the end of Al Qaeda and terrorism?

No.

Terrorists swarm the globe, and our Hero Barack Obama has done everything in his power to make them feel welcome. He has us actually fighting on their side in Libya! Certainly, Al Qaeda is part of the Libyan rebel coalition. The momentum was and is with the Jihadists. And Bin Laden was not the operational leader of global Jihad; his was the role of spiritual model, a man who walked away from great wealth and palace living to reside in caves and spend his days plotting. Such asceticism appeals to many in the Islamic world, and he appeared to be a man guided by the Hand of Allah to them. His less than heroic death at the hands of the U.S. military will shake some, enrage others. The death of a prophet (and they see him as one, although they would never use that title because it is reserved for Muhammad) either scatters his followers or elevates him. This could go either way in the Islamic world.

I suspect it will go in the latter way; they are going to want to "win one for the Gipper" here. They know America is pucillanimous. They think (and not without cause) Obama is one of them. They believe they are destined to win.

Prepare, America; something big could be in the offing!

The killing of a spiritual leader of a worldwide movement demands revenge, and revenge is a staple food to the Islamic world. If there are any nukes, they come out now. If there is any smallpox, it comes out now. If there is any sarin, it comes out now. It may take a bit - perhaps years, but we have likely set a terrible vengence into motion. And we don't have leadership capable of dealing with that vengence. Certainly Mr. Obama is not up to the task. His success here had little to do with his policies.

In fact, this justifies Donald Rumsfeld's view of small, fast black ops.

At any rate, it is a great day! An evil mastermind has been destroyed, and by the hands of Americans. A decade-long hunt is over! Justice has been served.

Now we see what America is made of. Our first response should be a prayer of thanksgiving to the God who has given us so much and who aided our cause against the murderers of men. If we fail to do this, we show our ingratitutude and our arrogance. Pride goeth before a fall; if we see this as OUR victory we open the door to terrible things.

May Almighty God bless America, and keep her.
