The Elephant Tamers

Always on Watch posted a letter which has our good friends at the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in a tizzy; it fired an arrow straight to the heart of the issue. We need more Americans with such a clear view of what is occuring.

America is a slumbering giant. Like an elephant lazing about in a mudpit, America has grown fat and happy thanks to unprecedented prosperity and easy living, and doesn`t want to lumber out in defence of its territory. Life is good and many want that ease to continue; unfortunately, the hunter is in the brush.

In South-east Asia Elephants are used as beasts of burden, and there is a thriving market for strong bull elephants. Elephant hunters capture them, then the elephant is tamed. This taming is accomplished by caging the beast, then poking it incessantly with sticks; the creature is not whipped or seriously hurt. The elephant tamer irritates the beast until it submits to his will.

Which is why we have not experienced another major terrorist attack in the United States; the enemy has studied our recent history, and knows that victory is for the patient. The enemy sees us like that elephant tamer sees a wild bull; very large and dangerous when angered, but easily broken through patient prodding. The key is to break the elephant`s will.

The enemy knows that another major attack will galvanize the American people. They want to weary us of fighting, sap our will. They have waited a long time for this-they have the patience to outwait us. They will fight us abroad, attack behind our backs, weary us of chasing phantoms who attack and hide. The key is to exploit our better nature; they KNOW we will behave honorably, will not committ massacres to kill terrorists. They can hide in the general population until our backs are turned. They know they can rely on our traitorous ``free`` press and the duplicity of our ``loyal opposition`` who care for nothing but their reacquisition of power.

The critical point, though, is to not hit us too hard-yet! When we are weakend enough, or if they become desperate enough, then the doomsday button will be pushed.

The question is, where do we currently stand?

I was having Blogger/Blogspot problems and couldn't get by here to thank you for the link.

And CAIR is leading the way here in the United States and doing all sorts of things on the q.t., even as they reassure us that they uphold American ideals. Taqiyya!

I'm so upset about how most Americans seem to have hit the snooze button on terror. With the "not guilty" verdict for that terrorist professor in Florida today, I am beginging to believe we are doomed.

Fantastic, if frightening post!

You are so right. In fact, I've long held that 9/11 was perhaps too big a success -- it roused America (at least for a time) from its slumbers -- as Japan realized to its detriment in WWII after Pearl Harbor -- they woke the sleeping tiger. As a result we counterattacked in perhaps a bigger way than they had expected, given the previous actions of the Clinton administration. So they have been lying low since then, striking here, striking there, but the absence of any strikes on American soil has me worried. I agree that it means they are biding their time and waiting for the big moment. I shudder to think what that might be. But right now it's the old "death by a thousand cuts" - which is the kind of death suffered in old duels -- when no death blow was given it simply amounted to a slow whittling away and the opponent finally succumbed to loss of blood and weakness. Scary thought. Our will is not as strong as theirs unless roused to a fight by an outrageous act -- Americans are fundamnentally peaceful people. Those crafty Muslims know this. Great post - I'll link it up! thanks for all your great comments on UT too!!
