Obama Demands Israel Dig Own Grave
Timothy Birdnow
Barack Obama issues an ultimatum to Israel to begin talks on surrendering territory to re-establish the pre-1967 borders.

"An Israeli source who maintains close ties with both senior U.S. officials and people close to Netanyahu said that Washington‘s frustration began with Netanyahu’s trip to Washington last month, when he publicly fought with Obama and then refused in an address to Congress to endorse the president’s outline for talks. The Americans were now speaking very harshly of Netanyahu, said the source.
“He’s asking us to protect him in September, but he isn’t giving us any tools with which to help him,” the source quoted one American official as saying. “Instead of helping us, he’s making it harder for us.”
As a result, American officials complained, Obama was unable to get Britain and France to commit to opposing a unilateral Palestinian move when he visited Europe last month.
“The Americans need Israel inside, but Netanyahu isn’t there yet,” the source said. “To date, from the American and European perspective, Israel hasn’t given anything.”'

First, it must be remembered that Israel offered 90% of this very thing a few years ago, and the Palestinians turned it down. In point of fact, Israel has offered land for the promise of peace repeatedly, and either been turned down or had it accepted and then had the ceded territory used for military operations against her.
Consider:
The Palestinians have been offered their own state numerous times and rejected it
In 1937, the Peel Commission proposed the partition of Palestine and the creation of an Arab state.
· In 1939, the British White Paper proposed the creation of an Arab state alone, but the Arabs rejected the plan.
· In 1947, the UN would have created an even larger Arab state as part of its partition plan.
· The 1979 Egypt-Israel peace negotiations offered the Palestinians autonomy, which would almost certainly have led to full independence.
· The Oslo process that began in 1993 was leading toward the creation of a Palestinian state before the Palestinians violated their commitments and scuttled the agreements.
· In 2000, Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered to create a Palestinian state, but Yasser Arafat rejected the deal.
In addition, from 1948 to 1967, Israel did not control the West Bank. The Palestinians could have demanded an independent state from the Jordanians.

And that territory that has been surrendered has been used to attack Israel.
For example, last year http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/malam_multimedia/English/eng_n/html/ipc_e082.htm
"On April 22 three Grad 122mm rockets were fired from the Sinai Peninsula at Eilat and Aqaba. One fell into the sea south of Eilat and the second in the Jordanian city of Aqaba. On April 24 divers found the third in the sea at a depth of 30 meters, 70 meters south of Eilat (IDF Spokesman, April 24, 2010).
Findings indicated that the rockets were apparently fired from the Sinai Peninsula, in our assessment, by a network affiliated with the global jihad. The last time 122mm Grad rockets were fired at Eilat from the direction of Jordan was in December 2005."

Fired from Sinai, a territory surrendered by Israel as part of the Camp David peace accord.
We could continue with a laundry list of such incidents, but the point is well-established; Israel would be mad to restore the pre-1967 borders. And she has no obligation to do so, either; she was attacked and has taken this territory as a security measure. Ultimately one wonders what justification the Palestinians can make to claim this land to begin with; there never has been a state of Palestine, and there are no such thing as Palestinians except by recent custom. There is no Palestinian people in any historical or cultural sense. TransJordan was the nation that held deed to the land prior to Israeli independence, and the Jordanians have written it off.
But the point is that we are trying to seduce Israel into committing national hari kari, and without justification; we ARE the U.N., or at least the primary financier of that worthless institution, and they doubtlessly will want to offer Palestine a state if for no other reason than to thumb us in the eye. But they won't do that if there will be real consequences, and we can threaten those consequences. We throw money around like confetti and can pull that money back at any time.
And the notion that we have to have this promise to offer to avoid a U.N. action is beyond silly; when negotiating, one does not start with complete surrender. Obama is asking Israel to START the negotiations with an agreement to give Palestinians everything they claim to want. Who in their right mind does that? That isn't negotiating; it's craven surrender.
Why is BHO giving Israel ultimatums, when he should be issuing them to the Palestinians? To the Germans, the Russians, the French? Israel is the victim here; Obama's scheme presupposes that the Jews are the aggressors. How dare they invite Hamas and Hizbollah to shell them and then complain about it! The nerve, placing innocent women and children in houses and schoolyards where the Palestinians plan to fire rockets!
Meanwhile, Iran is on the verge of atomic weaponry, and Nero Obama fiddles. If someone does not take serious steps - and at this point it requires boots on the ground - Tel Aviv will wind up a smoking hole in the ground. Why stop at Tel Aviv? How about New York City? How about an EMP attack on the U.S.? Come to think of it, an EMP on Israel would be a dandy strategy, too; sure, it will take down the Palestinian grid as well, but they barely have electricity to begin with, so it won't discommode them much. Take out the command and control of the IDF and the war will be fought with guns and knives. Muslims are good at that, and there are more of them!
Obama is asking Israel to dig her own grave.
