Jack Kemp
Should any of us be surprised by this move approved by the New York City government and its allied organizations? Only the details are news.
In an exclusive report in the NY Post by Michael Gartland, it states,

“Picture the Homeless, a Bronx nonprofit that has received at least $240,000 in taxpayer money in the last five years, is giving a crash course on squatting — and city-owned buildings are a prime target.
Two weeks ago, board member Andres Perez held a teach-in on how to wrest “control” of vacant apartments. He called it “homesteading.”
“The best time to enter a building is in the late hours,” he advised a group of about 20, who gathered in front of the half-empty East New York housing complex Arlington Village.
“You make sure you have your proper tools. You remove the chains and padlock, and then you go in.”
He then led them through the next steps — including filling out a change-of-address form at the post office and setting up utilities. After that, “nine out of 10 times the courts will allow you to be able to have control of the property,” he said.

Months ago, Occupy Wall Street was using similar tactics in Brooklyn and even alienated the very liberal City Councilman Charles Barron (D) with their antics. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/brooklyn/klyn_pol_supporter_flip_flops_on_Pt6THF9XMmgk89vVXlPiOO
And now a non-profit community activist organization is teaching what allegedly appears to be a form of breaking and entering, combined with filing false government papers. And the Post mentions some of these squatters may be involved with drugs, just as some of the Occupy Wall Street people.
The New York City Council is now embarrassed and scrambling to cover their…tracks on this road to irresponsible Divine Right of Social(ist) Entitlement. But New York City – and other left leaning administrations coast to coast – appear to think the real problem here is getting caught, not the act itself. Would Bill Ayers and Frances Fox Piven approve of the Picture the Homeless organization’s behavior? The answer is the same as to the questions below.
Will David Axelrod be watching the news from the Supreme Court concerning ObamaCare? Would Sandra Fluke accept free contraceptives from the government? Would the Occupy Wall Street crowd quickly leave a park if it was announced that Apple Stores would be offering the new iPad at a discount for American Express Platinum Card holders?
