Virtually all new viral illnesses, including the seasonal flu originate in China or Asia because of their unsanitary way of life which involves living in intimate and close proximity to poultry and livestock. If it wasn't for that these viruses wouldn't be able to jump the species barrier and infect the rest of the world.
