Still Need Proof of Death

I argued back in February of `05 that North Korea may be scamming us in regards to their nuclear program. (I`ve also argued that the United States government could be afraid of a North Korean EMP attack; these are not contradictory arguments in that I didn`t claim Pyong Yang would necessarily attack us with home-made nukes.)

So now North Korea has actually attempted to test a nuclear device-or did they? Evidence suggests that they made the effort but it failed. Either that, or they have made us think they tested a dud. There was some kind of underground explosion in the range of a primer, but lacking the kilotonnage of an actual nuclear blast.

Again, I call for proof of death; you would think the North Koreans would have the sense to bring in credible witnesses to verify that they did, indeed, test a nuclear device. Those witnesses needn`t be apprised of where they are going or see all of the test facilities, but they should be people with enough information to verify what the Koreans are doing. If you plan on wasting the nuclear fuel in your bomb, you certainly want to gain maximum political leverage from your test. Why so secretive about it? Could it be that there is no bomb?

I wonder if we aren`t being scammed.
