Liberal Psychosis and Scaremongering

There is an article in the American Thinker this morning by a gentleman named Steven Feinstein which illustrates liberal thought perfectly; liberals are constantly trying to whip the public into panic mode over nebulous concerns-such as Bird Flu, AIDS, DDT, and Global Warming. He argues that none of these apocalyptic predictions have come to pass, yet the left continues with their dark prophecies. The odd thing is that there are real issues to be concerned about-such as Islamic terrorism-and yet the Dodo Birds in the MSM think these issues are tempests in teaposts.

This isn`t new for the Left; they denied that the old Soviet Union was our enemy for decades, and they tried to pawn off ``detente`` and ``peaceful coexistance`` on America and the World. Does anyone remember the old mantra about how the Russians are ``people too`` and if we could just get past their different economic system and funny language we would realize they want peace as much as we do? The Media did it`s best to portray the Soviets as morally equivalent to the United States, and laughed off the massive nuclear arsenal pointed at our heads. They had Global Cooling, Legionaire`s Disease, DDT causing a ``Silent Spring``, nuclear reactor meltdowns, etc. to worry about. Important things! They couldn`t be bothered with Russians armies and nuclear warheads and other such inconsequential matters.

So the cast changes, but the play remains the same. Now we have Global Warming, Bird Flu, Dioxin, CO2 emissions, etc. to worry about. Important things! Things which could destroy the planet and make Mankind extinct (although that may not be all bad, according to some)! They can`t be bothered with Islamic Jihadists armies bent on killing us, or with the possibility that those Jihadists could soon have nuclear weapons to use on American cities. These are inconsequential matters!

The sad truth is that the Soviets were indeed real, and they were indeed a terrible menace and danger to our very survival and way of life, yet the liberals hoped that if they chased after moonbeams and cotton candy crises the real threat would disappear, much like Dorothy clicking her heels together made Oz go away. Today they want more of the same; if they pretend there aren`t people trying to kill us, people who may soon have nuclear or biological weapons capable of killing millions, if they chase after the will-of-the-wisp, worrying over a fictitious Global Warming, or a non-pandemic chicken disease, the danger will pop like a soap bubble.

The Left is seriously psychotic; they are completely out of touch with reality. They work themselves into a lather about non-issues while ignoring what is actually happening in the world. Let me make it plain; one nuclear device detonated in New York City would kill upwards of 10 million people. If terrorists get hold of the old Soviet stock of Smallpox they could make that 10 mil look minor. These things are real. We have proof they exist, and we know what they can do in the wrong hands. Worrying that we might maybe possibly have a deadly outbreak of disease we can`t currently catch is not a rational assessment of risk. If you want to worry about things, worry about mushroom clouds!

Oh, and we can actually DO something about terrorism, just as Ronald Reagan did something about the Soviets. It just takes determination-something sorely lacking in the character of the left.

Science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick once defined reality as ``that thing which, when we stop believing in it, won`t go away``. Refusing to face reality is what we define as madness. By these definitions, the Left is mad as a hatter!

(As an historical note; hatters were often buggy because they worked in confined rooms by themselves with toxic adhesives all day long. They sniffed more glue than Tommy Chong, and it tended to addle their brains. My grandmother worked briefly as a milner, and she suffered from a terrible case of Alzheimer`s disease later in life which I suspect was prompted by her exposure to these commercial adhesives.)

Earlier today, I read THIS. Excerpt:

The tyrant of Baghdad is dead and the far left uses this opportunity to, once more, show us their Bush derangement syndrome in its full flower. The DU, Huffington Post and Daily Kos are virtual cess pits bemoaning the death of the poor misunderstood Saddam. Their moonbat editorialists and commenters crying for GWB, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney to suffer similar fates.

If nothing else, their paranoiac cult's behavior, deepens my belief that these traitors represent a greater danger to our country than all of the terrorists combined....

The Left has forever been in denial as to what constitutes the most significant threat to freedom.

Wow, you're really old, Tim. Explains why you are so intelligent. That was a magnificently consise explanation of the heart of liberalism. Liberalism is very simplistic and childish. No wonder they love welfare on the one hand and power on the other. Don't cross a child, they get mad and maybe even if possible. Sounds very schizophrenic, doesn't it?
And yet being in the cauldron of liberty and freedom in positions of power, they are as dangerous as our enemies. They may not kill with bullets but they will kill with words, good intentions, and legislation or court decisions. It's time to make the word liberal or progressive bad again. First though you would have to teach it to the young and we know who unfortunately controls them. Thank you for your wisdom.

It is absolutely true that the victims of American Liberalism exhibits truly delusional characteristics. Every debate I attempt to have with a Liberal degrades rapidly into prevarication, obfuscation, and when all else fails, invective.
