A Brillian Rant by Jamie Allman

Here in St. Louis there is a former television news reporter turned Archdiocesan spokesman turned conservative talk radio host named Jamie Allman. Allman is good, and more in-your-face than many of his competitors; he really should get national attention. This morning he went on a rant which was pure gold-and which said what I have been saying all along:

Three Thousand Deaths and a Few Oaths of Office:

I want to address the 3,000 deaths that certain people in this country now are waving in front of the country's face as it pursues its anti administration, anti Bush, anti war on terror agenda. Some of these crass and weak people are taking the oath of office today.

First off, I don't wipe away the 3,000 deaths by making the number better by recalling world war two deaths. 3,000 deaths is a tragedy. The difference is in who we blame.

The 3,000 American men and women who volunteered for the armed forces and who have died in Iraq are the truest of true patriots. They volunteered to aid the United States and when called to do so they went--whether they agreed with the war or not. They are heroes.

But to some Americans, they are victims. To some Americans, they are victims of America and George Bush, not of the terrorists. These citizens who use the deaths to further their anti war agenda couldn't shine the boots of these dead heroes of ours. Many of them don't even know members of the military or families of those with people in the military. Because if you talked to the families of those who have fallen in the war -- as I have -- you don't hear regret and disdain for this country and its policies. You don't hear attacks on the Bush administration. You don't hear their loved ones were killed by "America".

Those of you who have celebrated the recent striking of the magic 3,000 number because it helps your anti-Bush cause at cocktail parties, those of you who have enjoyed rubbing the country's noses in the deaths and dangling the brave and heroic bodies of our American men and women in front of our eyes all because it fits into your prediction of a quagmire, those of you who have decided that your agenda is greater than the country's....well...I say shame on you.

You talk of the 3,000 deaths like you care about the men and women. I don't believe you. I think you're a fraud. You didn't care about our military before 9/11 and you don't care now. I know what you do care about though. You care about your disdain for Republicans. You care about your disdain for George Bush. You're still pissed about the election of 2000. You disdain the administration because it doesn't blow smoke up your union's rear, because it doesn't cow tow to your demands for unlimited abortion, because it cuts programs you use to keep your blacks on the liberal plantation. You don't care about the dead American troops, you don't care about the war on terror, and you don't care about the country. You care about you and your political agenda that has nothing to do with the Iraq war. How do I know? Because had this been a Bill Clinton production you'd be behind it all the way. If this were a Democratic Bill Clinton production we wouldn't be able to shut you up about how it's changing the world and how the seas will part someday and reveal the true genius of the Clinton Doctrine. Ask yourself right now you out there: If this were a Bill Clinton production what would you be saying? You know what the answer is. And you should be ashamed of yourself because of it.

But if this were just politics I could simply write it off as another debate point.
Unfortunately I can't let you off that easy. I have kids. And I still have a country. And I love them all. You threaten them. Your obstruction of the war effort and your political torpedoing of nearly every aspect of the war on terror are sentencing my children to a life of intimidation by Islamic Jihadists. Right now we have our men and women bravely fighting and dying in the effort to contain the Jihad disease. You’re undermining of them and the undermining of our attempts to control terror open up the possibility that my children will spend the rest of their lives fighting Islamic terror and being in the crosshairs of terrorists in one way or another.

So while you might think that your constant drumbeat of terror against our war on terror is just a means of getting your Obamas and your Pelosi's and your Hillary's into office, and just a means of getting your liberal plantation programs back in action and your tax hikes on the rich instituted and making sure your unfettered abortions continue --actually what its doing is threatening my family and my country. You got all of your left wing buffoons elected on the backs our country and our troops and our national security--by making sure Iraq was perceived as a failure. So you can stop undermining the war and the country now. You got what you wanted. Now do everything you can to help our men and women finish the job and finish off the terrorists. I can put up with Pelosi. I won't put up with your political games jeopardizing my family and my country.

This guy clearly understands what we are up against!
