Remuda of RINOs

I`ve been saying for quite some time that the moderates have, through George W. Bush, effectively killed the Reagan Revolution and delivered the Republican Party back into the hands of the perennial losers. Conservatives have supported President Bush for years because he talked a good game and was definitely superior to the Democrats, but that his actions belied an allegiance not with the Reaganites but more with the Rockefeller Rino remuda. New tones, compromise, profligate spending, nation building and gentle warfare have all infected the rank and file of the Republican majority, and conservative voices have been silenced in favor of a knock-kneed Rodney King moment-``can`t we all just get along`` being the rallying cry of the Republicans while the Democrats continue to gang-beat them with their media-supplied police batons.

Now we face the prospect of being forced to support an even more liberal candidate for president, or taste the bitter draught of a Democrat in the White House. Once again the Country Club Republicans have silenced the Conservative wing, and have taken their party back into political exile. We may wind up supporting a Giuliani or McCain campaign as the lesser of two evils, and either of these men will see to it that Republicans become permanent minorities, as they had been previously. We lie between the Devil and the deep blue sea.

Steve Rankin forwarded this decent analysis of the situation. The writer further points out that McCain, Giuliani, and Newt Gingrich would all have been disqualified as serious candidates until Bill Clinton and his traveling brothel went to Washington; now having extramarital affairs seems to add extra qualifications. Based on that premise, I suppose the Dems will run porn star Ron Jeremy in `12!

One thing is crystal clear; if the Reaganites don`t fight for control of their own party, they will lose it, and thereby ruin will come to an America once again enthralled by the Left. The forces of darkness are on the move, and the Republican Party is fast becoming a place where Jimmy Carter would have been at home. Of course, the Democrats have wandered into complete madness, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the old Menshevik Party in Alexander Kerensky`s provisional government prior to the Bolshevik October Revolution.

We live in one of the most dangerous periods in human history. Islamic Jihad has a quarter of the world seeking our destruction, we have a brand new nuclear arsenal in Russia pointing in a most impolite fashion at our cities, we have a terrifyingly cunning China smiling to our faces while plotting our destruction with the nuclear technology they have stolen from us. Soon the terror-masters in Iran will have nuclear weapons, and North Korea has already developed them. We have multi-millions of aliens invading our country and stealing the services intended for American citizens, aliens who do not intend to enculturate but would instead like to partition the land of the Norte Americanos. We have communists in Venezuela, the return of Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua. We have insane Earth-worshipping environmentalists determined to dismantle the technology which keeps our many enemies at bay, we have the increasing radicalization of Universities, media outlets, movies and books, etc. We have an apostasy from our Judeo-Christian heritage and the rise of atheism which is, quite frankly, the most dangerous thing of all because it forshadows a moral and spiritual vacuum which must be filled, and will either open the gates to barbarian Islam or the complete ennui of post-modern atheism. We cannot afford to lose this battle for the soul of the Republican Party. So goes the Republicans, so goes the Republic.

This is a pivotal time for our national survival. Unfortunately, few Americans realize the great danger we are in. They eat, drink, and make merry while remaining blithely ignorant of the sword of Damocles hanging over our collective heads. Life has been too easy for too many, we have grown too fat and lazy to get off of our bulbous posteriors. Like all great empires, the United States is not falling from without but is rotting from within. If the demise of our Republic and way of life is to be prevented we will have to act swiftly and decisively NOW! Time is growing short.

Unfortunately, the enemies are legion-including half of what used to be our own party. The RINOs rampage may well spell the end for us.

As the Chinese would say, we live in interesting times!

In my opinion, our situation as a nation is even worse than what you've described. If a social-welfare friendly president comes to power, I fear our fragile (yes, I said fragile) dollar will not be able to handle the strain placed upon it. If our economy goes in the toilet, we won't even be able to pay for our own protection. We'll be at the mercy of anyone who comes to pick at our carcasses. Grim outlook? Yes, but I do have the benefit of being able to blame both parties for our demise... being an outsider (pronounced Libertarian).

Tim, no doubt that the Republicans no longer stand for limited government and a social-welfare friendly president is in power (he is not requiring the public to carry its share of the financial burdens in fighting a war). Republicans have learned from Democrats that votes are bought with taxpayers' money. The trend appears irreversible... state and local governments are exacerbating this destruction. Mass chaos will be particularly ugly with modern communication tools. Starvation riots on YouTube?
