Illegals to Steal Social Security Thanks to Bush
Our good friend Bob from Sweet Spirits of Ammonia has a piece detailing a plot to grant illegal aliens social security benefits. This, despite the fact that the system is about to become insolvent!
The worst part of it all is that this scheme was negotiated with the Mexican government behind our collective backs; President Bush was forced to divulge this because of a freedom of information lawsuit. The Bush Administration certainly does seem determined to dissolve our borders despite the will of the public!
I fear that the last two years of the Bush Administration is going to be what military men call a Charlie Foxtrot; Bush`s worst impulses will be entertained by the Democratic majority, while he will surrender the conservative agenda to foment his ``new tone``. We`ll get ``comprehensive immigration reform`` ie. amnesty and open borders, we`ll get a huge minimum wage increase, a tax increase, etc. I am terribly frightened that we`ll get another Harriett Myers appointment to the Supreme Court if John Paul Stevens dies or retires, which means we`ll have another John Paul Stevens! Furthermore, while Bush is calling for more troops in Iraq I fear that he`ll set them to performing ``meals on wheels`` functions-rather than loosening the rules of engagement and letting them go after the terrorists-to appease the Democrats, if he can get the troops at all. More troops mean more targets if they are not used to fight. The war will take a turn for the worse if this happens.
Why couldn`t Bush have acted BEFORE the elections to beef up Iraq? Why does he continue in his internationalist insanity by allowing our borders to be non-existent at a time when we are fighting an enemy that uses guerilla tactics? The President`s political clumbsiness and his eclipsed logic are baffling to me; doesn`t he have people explaining these things to him, if he fails to understand them himself? He`s a lame duck because of his own obstinant actions and his repetition of failed policies.
Now he`s going to destroy social security by enrolling illegal aliens!
Anyone who has ever scattered breadcrumbs for birds is aware of the fact that what starts with one or two feeding creatures soon multiplies into dozens; the birds are attracted to the freebies and come a-running to the all-you-can-eat buffet. People are no different, and if we lovingly let illegal aliens come here (in violation of our laws) and then feed them social services, welfare, driver`s licenses, and now social security, we are going to draw many, many more of them. Why wouldn`t they come? They`d be fools to stay in Mexico, when Uncle Sam-more is going to simply give them a better life for free!
Given the lust of Bush`s friends for cheap labor, I wonder if that isn`t perhaps the point?
