A MESSAGE TO AMERICA FROM THE PEOPLE’S ASSEMBLY IN ZUCOTTI PARK
Dear fellow Americans,
We are assembled in Zucotti Park — which we’ve renamed Liberty Plaza — in the financial district of New York, because we believe that the American economy is heading in the wrong direction and we have a few ideas for what to do about it.
There is a feeling shared by a growing number of people on the streets of the world that the global economy has become a kind of Ponzi scheme, a global casino, run by and for the benefit of the 1 percent.
We believe that it is possible to inject justice into the global economy. We have come up with the following list of things that can be done right now to rejuvenate democracy and economic justice in our country:
• Halt foreclosures for the unemployed, sick and elderly
• Increase funding to public services by taxing the richest 1 percent
• Forgive all student loan debt
• Reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act in order to control speculation
• Work with the other G20 nations to implement a 1% “Robin Hood” tax on all financial transactions and currency trades
• Ban high-frequency ‘flash’ trading and bring sanity to the markets
• Break up the “too big to fail” banks that threaten our future
• Arrest the financial fraudsters responsible for the 2008 meltdown and bring them to justice
• Ordain a Presidential Commission tasked with ending the influence corporate money has on our elected representatives in Washington
If you agree with any of these demands, then join us! We will stay here in our encampment in Liberty Plaza until President Obama responds to each of these demands. This is just the beginning, there is more to come as we work together to reshape America.

OWS allies include CAIR, the Hamas-linked Council of American Islamic Relations, the communist Worker's World Party, The National Lawyer's Guild, the Worker's Family Party, Moveon.org, etc.
Where does the money come from? Money is managed by the Alliance for Global Justice, a group founded in 1979 to support the Communist Sandanistas. Soros money is all over this; the Tides Foundation and Open Society Institute are huge backers. Michael Moore is in there, too. And OWS stores it's donated food and gear at a building provided by the United Federation of Teachers free of charge.
This is an astroturf revolution, with the same people who have been protesting for years out in the streets.
Do not mistake the 99 centers for the Tea Party, which has no funding or central organization but relies on largely spontaneous gatherings.
In the end this is the same play used by revolutionaries throughout the twentieth century; central coordination, corporate donations, professional agitators giving the illusion of a grassroots movement and frightening politicians. And the President's fingerprints are all over this; his old employer ACORN, the teacher's unions, SEIU, all of his big backers and supporters are at the heart of OWS. His friends like Ayers and Van Jones are there. He himself would be there if it wouldn't wreck his re-election chances. Our President has given up the radical pose to achieve radical ends.
This reminds me of the first three Star Wars episodes; Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine planned the war himself, backing the rebels to justify his ingathering of power, then wiping the rebels out "Lord Vader, go bring peace to the Galaxy". His path to "peace" was to start conflict then resolve it on his own terms. That is precisely what is happening here. This is what Glenn Beck calls "top down, bottom up, inside out"; the inner cabal is telling the stupid that they are repressed by capitalism when in fact it is liberal policies and government that has caused most of the economic and social problems, then the stupid rise in revolution, with the end game being the ingathering of power into the hands of the people who caused the problem in the first place. Any thinking person would understand that corporations may not care about people but they at least have to please customers and stockholders, and there is competition between different companies. There is no competition with government, and it has to please nobody once it gets the power it seeks. Why are large corporate entities bad but an enormous monopolistic entity good? These people are being played for suckers.
Anger, resentment, jealousy, all are covered by the Commandment "thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, or any of his household goods" and that was put there by God for a reason; they are all too human a reaction. What Leftists do is aggravate the human sin of covetousness, telling those who have had a good life that in fact they have had a bad one, that they have been mistreated because they don't have as much as their neighbor (and corporate heads are there neighbor in this world) and so they have a right to demand what their neighbor has, and in fact to punish their neighbor, make them suffer for having more. Socialism is nothing more than a political and philosophical framework for coveting. And the appeal is great - especially to the young who are insecure, and the mediocre who know they don't have the ability to achieve. Better to hate those who do than to accept one's own lack of talent or initiative. In America it's generally lack of initiative that leads to economic failure. The OWS crowd is composed of the wrathfull, the sullen, and the slothful.
One of the amazing cliches of the Left is that the uber rich support the Right Wing. They do not and never have; most of the very wealthy are leftist to some degree or another. Soros is the most obvious example, but there are many others; Peter Lewis of Progressive, John Sperling (founder of the University of Phoenix), Herb and Marion Sandler, Stephan Bing, Bill Gates, William Hambrecht, etc. And this isn't a new phonomenon, either; Armand Hammer, David Rockefeller, come to mind immediately.
And remember; it wasn't a groundswell of popular money that funded the Nazis in Germany.
Even the most antipathetic of groups - the Bolsheviks - received considerable financing from wealthy businessmen. Jacob Schiff, senior partner in Kuhn, Loeb & Co. was a big contributor to the Bolsheviks, as was Max Warburg, brother of Paul Warburg, founder of the Federal Reserve Bank. You had Olaf Ashberg of the
Swedish Nye Bank.

Now, why do you suppose big business types would support the Bolsheviks? It was the Bolshevik triumph in Russia (a place that had scant corporate interests and little free enterprise anyway) that could be used to push all mannner of reforms in the West - reforms that entrenched the big fat cats in positions of eternal dominance. The income tax. The Federal Reserve. government regulation of business, all of these things kept competitors out of the market, guaranteeing the dominance of businesses "too big to fail". Big government exists because it favors big business. The reforms made by the Progressives turned the robber barons into emperors. Liberals are too stupid to see that fact. They are the ultimate patsies.
And the "People's President" Barack Hussein Obama is thick as thieves with Goldman Sachs, with General Electric, with the big mega corporations. Go figure.
In the end the Progressive State, the Socialists, and Corporatism is one in the same.
