Timothy Birdnow The State Department has removed the category of religious freedom from the nation reports it issued on May 24. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/state-department-purges-section-religious-freedom-its-human-rights-reports Apparently Mr. Obama does not think religion is a human right, one needing protection. Of course, as Mr. Obama has made abundantly clear, HE doesn't intend to consider religion a fundamental human right, at least not where abortion and contraception are concerned. This is the way of tyranny; the Nazis, for example, did not enter office and immediately change the laws to their liking, but rather they twisted the laws, making subtle changes and redefining terms. Tyranny rarely is born all at once but rather creeps in unobserved, with small changes here and deletions of protections there. Religious freedoms are some of the most critical, because they speak to the fundamental right to determine what it is you believe, an internal thought process. There is a reason why the Founding Fathers lumped freedom of speech, the press, and religion into one amendment; they all speak to the ability to think, reason, and believe - all are pertinent to the internal processes of the human mind. Tyranny demands that those minds be closed, be regulated by the State in some fashion. Couple this with a bill before Congress authorizing the use of propoganda on U.S. citizens INSIDE THE UNITED STATES and you see where things are headed. http://www.prisonplanet.com/ndaa-2013-headed-to-full-house-smithamash-amendment-offered.html This bill would overturn the 1948 Smith-Mundt Act and the 1987 Foreign Relations Authorization Act, both of which specifically banned this type of activity. While the U.S. government has always engaged in a certain amount of propoganda to promote it's own purposes, this would remove all contstraints. We would become like the old Soviet Union.
